I had come here for a college internship in the front office at Pridgeon & Clay.

I manage customer service - all orders that come in from customers electronically, or by fax, email or phone, and process the orders. We work with schedulers and logistics to make sure parts ship on time.

It is something new every day. Customers sometimes have different ideas about orders - it comes down to problem solving.

What makes Pridgeon & Clay a great place to work?

They have treated me well - good benefits, good pay. When I started, there were 100 employees here, now there are more than 800 in the U.S. I feel like I've worked for several different companies. It's been fun to watch the growth and be a part of that constant change.

Global Build Manager - Machine Build
17 Years at Pridgeon & Clay

Why did you come to Pridgeon & Clay?

My high school offered a school to work program during my junior year. My sister was a press operator here and my dad was a tool & die maker.

Mechatronics Engineer - Research & Development
5 Years at Pridgeon & Clay

Why did you come to Pridgeon & Clay?

I was looking for an internship as part of my requirements for school. After completing my internship at Pridgeon & Clay, I stayed with the company as a full-time employee.

    What do you do now?

I work in the Mechatronics group, developing laser welding adn automation processes. After a process has been developed and is needed, I design machines to automate the process to produce parts for our customers. I see the project start to finish - from design, build, and to the PPAP run.

What is interesting about your job?

It changes almost every day. It is nice to be able to develop welds one day and design a cell the next. Being able to work with the new technology here at Pridgeon & Clay is nice.

What makes Pridgeon & Clay a great place to work?

Management here has given me a lot of freedom to do what I think is right as we develop new processes. I've been given a lot of responsibility with developing advanced weld processes, and been allowed to determine the scope of my work.

Production Manager - Low Volume Production
7.5 Years at Pridgeon & Clay

Why did you come to Pridgeon & Clay?

A recruiter found me. I was plant manager at a smaller assembly shop, we had 112 employees. The company was restructuring when our main customer decided to bring assembly work in-house. I was looking for other opportunities when the recruiter contacted me.

    What do you do now?

I'm the production manager for low volume production and laser welding groups. My focus is on leading and supporting the team as well as growing the new production areas while constantly looking for opportunities for improvement.

What is interesting about your job?

My team and I are building a new business unit and to see it grow and expand is exciting. I enjoy quoting new work coming in, as well as developing new production processes. I am able to work with new technology to improve current processes and develop new opportunities. I also enjoy developing and mentoring employees to be successful.

What makes Pridgeon & Clay a great place to work?

The pay is good and the benefits are great. I paid more for my benefits when I was 18 working in a union shop than I do now for a family of six. The dedication the company has to its employees to provide top notch health benefits is a reflection on how much Pridgeon & Clay cares about its employees. The tuition reimbursement program is also a great benefit, which has allowed me to go back to school and get my degree. I also love the fact that Pridgeon & Clay is willing to invest in new technologies to expand the company's capabilities.
